1,270 flights to be added during Tet
PSNews – The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam has just approved the plan to increase 1,270 flights during the Lunar New Year 2017 to meet the growing demand of domestic and international travelers.

Tan Son Nhat international airport is expected to run 1,065 more flights (38 flights/day), an increase of 7.7% compared to the usual schedule. Accordingly, from January 16th to February 12th, Vietnam Airlines will operate additional 380 flights with 76,758 seats.

Meanwhile, the low-cost carriers of Vietjet Air and Jetstar Pacific will increase 560 and 330 flights, equivalent to 100,800 seats and 59,400 seats, respectively.
With these additional flights, the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam estimated that on a peak day, Tan Son Nhat international airport will serve 807 flights, a rise of 11%.
Although the three carriers asked to increase over 2,400 more flights, the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam has only agreed on the plan for additional 1,270 flights due to the safety and service quality reasons.
