These project investors will be able to enjoy preferential feed-in tariffs as stipulated in Decision No.11 issued by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on April 11 2017.
Currently, Vietnam only has 27 solar farms joined the national grid.
Once put into commercial operation in late June, the 88 solar farms are expected to help lift the total capacity of nationwide renewable energy projects connected to the grid to 4,000 MW.
These renewable energy projects, mostly located in the south-central and southern regions, are believed to make a significant contribution to the total power supply for these regions as well as ease overloads facing the southern region’s power transmission system.
