APEC Finance Ministers’ Meeting to discuss solutions to four key economic issues

PSNews – The 24th APEC Finance Minister’s Meeting will take place on October 21, in Hoi An, Quang Nam, according to the Ministry of Finance. 

Four priorities which have been discussed in APEC Senior Finance Officials’ Meeting in May are: long-term investment in infrastructure; base erosion and profit shifting; disaster risk financing and insurance; cooperation in the comprehensive financial field.

The results of the cooperation in these 4 priorities will be reported to the Ministers on October 21. On that basis, the Ministers will release a Joint Statement, expressing their view on issues relating to the regional financial cooperation, this year’s cooperation priorities and orientations of the APEC Financial Ministers’ Process in the coming time.

About 300 delegates will participate in the APEC Finance Ministers’ Meeting. They may include  Finance Ministers, leaders of finance agencies and central banks of 21 APEC economic countries, senior officials of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank (WB), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). 

The outcomes of the APEC Finance Ministers' Meeting will be submitted to the APEC National Committee 2017 for the preparation for contents of the APEC Economic Leaders' Week 2017 in November.
