Baoviet Holdings wins the 2018 Asia's most transparence sustainability Report by the ASRA

Baoviet Holdings – The leading financial and insurance group in Vietnam has won The best transparence sustainability report at the 4th Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards (ASRA) concluded in Singapore. ASRA is the highest recognition for corporate reporting in the region.

Overcoming hundreds of candidates who are corporate businesses from many countries in the Asian region with high results in the activities of making sustainable development reports, Baoviet was awarded the 2018 Asia's most transparence sustainability Report by the ASRA Panel of Judges.

In addition, at the Vision Awards organized by LACP (United States), Baoviet also achieved 8 awards categories, the most prominent of which is the Top 14 Integrated Reports Worldwide; 2 Platinum Awards for Best Annual Report in Insurance Industry - Financial Services; Gold Award for Excellence within Insurance and Financial Services and Top 5 Best Vietnam Sustainability Reports.

In Vietnam, Baoviet Holdings continues to subjugate members of the Voting Council of "Vietnam Listed Company Awards" co-organized by Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE), Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) and Securities Investment Newspaper with outstanding results, topping the top three categories: Top 10 best annual reports of Large Cap group; Top 5 businesses with the Best Corporate Governance Reports and the Best Sustainability Report.

Brand Finance - the world's leading independent brand and business strategy valuer/auditor, announced the Vietnam Brand Rankings 2018. Accordingly, Baoviet is the leading brand in the financial - insurance sector, in the Top 50 most valuable brands in Vietnam. Baoviet brand value is valued at US $ 116 million, an increase of US $ 8 million compared to 2017. This is a recognition of the improvement of Baoviet brand over the years.

Senior business leaders from 13 countries turned up at the exclusive awards ceremony hosted by the British High Commissioner in Singapore H.E. Scott Wightman. The event was attended by dignitaries from diverse fields including academia, non-profit, embassies, trade associations and advocacy organisations.

A record 82 companies from 14 countries made it to the final round of the 2018 Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards across 17 categories.

The awards were presented by the Guest of Honour Jessica Cheam, managing editor of Eco-Business, The British High Commissioner H.E. Scott Wightman and special guests Dr Lawrence Loh, director of Corporate Governance, Institutions and Organisations at NUS Business School and Dr Wu Huijuan, Assistant Director, Singapore Institute of International Affairs.

An independent judging panel decides the awardsfollowing rigorous criteria. The judges sifted through nearly 400 entries to select the winners.The judging process involvedthree rounds of screening and evaluations to identify the very best in each award category. Finally, comprehensive due diligence was carried out to assess finalists’ reputation among stakeholders,and the findings were considered to determine the winners.

In recent years, almost all major stock exchanges in the region have introduced regulations that require the listed companies to publish annual sustainability reports to meet investors’ demand.

“ASRA is helping organisations to raise the bar in reporting and improving the quality of sustainability information for stakeholders,” Mr Chhabara added.

CSRWorks International, a Singapore-based firm focussed on sustainability consulting, training and thoughtleadership, has created the non-profit Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards to inspire Asian organisations to adopt sustainability reporting and integrated reporting.
