FLC proposes to invest in Quang Tri airport

PSNews - FLC Group stated that this project, if approved, would contribute to improving the transportation system, thus driving the socio-economic development of the central province. It will also pave the way for promoting the development of tourism and attracting investments into the province.

Quang Tri authorities recently announced that, FLC group has proposed to invest in Quang Tri airport project. According to the official dispatch of FLC sent to Quang Tri authorities, the aviation sector is identified as a key target of FLC Group in 2020 as well as in the 5-year plan 2020-2025.

The information was disclosed during a recent meeting between the group’s leaders and the province’s Party Committee. Currently, FLC Group, a strategic investor of the province, has been investing in several key projects in the locality.

FLC Group stated that this project, if approved, would contribute to improving the transportation system, thus driving the socio-economic development of the central province. It will also pave the way for promoting the development of tourism and attracting investments into the province.

Earlier, the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam proposed to build at Quang Tri Airport with a total investment of VND8,014 billion ($344 million).

The airport was planned to have a passenger terminal with capacity of 1 million passengers a year. Capital sources are expected to be mobilized from the State budget, corporate capital, and PPP investment.

Reportedly, FLC Group, owner of Bamboo Airways, has so far invested in aviation infrastructure such as the T3 terminal at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCMC and the Dong Hoi Airport in Quang Binh Province.
