“The Food Safety Week for Lunar New Year 2018,” which was kicked off on January 1st, is a practical activity of Hanoi’s various efforts to ensure the food safety in all phases.

Ms. Ho Thi Mai Chinh, Head of the "Safe Meal" programme stated that, the “Food Safety Week for Lunar New Year 2018" introduces consumers high-quality products with their reliable origins, contributing to minimizing food poisoning incidents during the upcoming Lunar New Year 2018.

This is the very first event hosted by the Hanoi authorities, aiming to connect Hanoi and other localities across the country in providing safe agricultural products and introducing regional specialties.

The event will last until February 7th, in Royal City, Hanoi.

Additionally, from January 1st, functional agencies of Hanoi have also started to deploy the plan on food safety in 2018, under the direction of the Hanoi People's Committee. Importantly, it requires relevant agencies to inspect and check F&B businesses both periodically and unexpectedly to see how they observe the legal regulations of food safety.

Moreover, the Hanoi authorities are developing a new market system and renovating the old ones with specific and strict standards on food hygiene and safety.
