Hanoi prepares consumer goods worth VND 23.5 trillion amount for upcoming Tet

PSNews - The total value of goods for the upcoming Tet holiday is estimated at 23.5 trillion VND, up by 10 percent compared to last year’s Tet.

On December 20, at a press briefing held by the Hanoi Party Committee's Commission for Communications and Education, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Municipal Department of Industry and Trade Tran Thi Phuong Lan said the Hanoi’s demand for consumer goods will increase during the Tet.

Specifically, Hanoi will need 88,000 tons of rice, 15,500 tons of pork, 4,600 tons of beef; 6,400 tons of chicken and nearly 100 million liters of wine, soft drinks and beer.

She also revealed that the city’s trade and industry department will collaborate with the District People Committees in Hanoi to held 5 Vietnamese goods fairs the Lunar New Year holiday in 5 districts and towns, namely Dong Anh, Quoc Oai, My Duc, Me Linh and Son Tay from January 13-23 2017, and 60 spring flower fairs will also take place from January 7 – 21 2017.

In addition, the Hanoi Municipal Department of Industry and Trade will also hold a 2-week-long Vietnamese goods fairs in Thuong Tin and Thach That districts and 200 other mobile trading points in rural areas, suburbs, industrial parks around Hanoi to serve consumers’ demand for goods in the New Year 2017 holiday.
