Japanese two-wheeler giant, Honda, has kicked off the Honda Asian Journey 2017 in Malaysia. The ride saw bikers cover a distance of 570km through peninsular Malaysia for four days.

The journey ended at Sepang race track, where the 2017 Malaysian MotoGP is being hosted. Over 50 journalists, Honda dealers and associates from Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines and India will be participating in the Honda Asian Journey 2017.

The ride commenced at Malacca Circuit with a warm-up session on safe riding training. It was followed by test rides of 60 Honda performance motorcycles including the Honda CB500, CBR650R, CBR1000RR, X-ADV, VFR1200X, Africa Twin, and the Gold Wing.

But the highlight of the afternoon was definitely the ultra exclusive Honda RC213V-S. For the uninitiated, it is a road-legal superbike based on Marc Marquez’ MotoGP race bike - the Honda RC213V. ZigWheels is also a part of the ride and we will be sharing our experience with the ultimate road-going Honda superbike soon.

From Melacca City, the participants will head to Bukit Tinggi City and ride up to Genting Highlands, a mountain resort located approximately 1,700 metres above sea level.

Post this, the riders will travel to Sepang race track to witness the qualifying session of the 2017 Malaysian MotoGP. This will be followed by an exclusive dinner with MotoGP riders Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa of the Repsol Honda Team, and Takaaki Nakagami and Khairul Idham Pawi of the Idemitsu Honda Team Asia, in Kuala Lumpur.

On the final day, the participants will ride to the Sepang International Circuit for the penultimate race of the 2017 MotoGP season. Interestingly, Honda rider, Marc Marquez, is within touching distance of the crown and could seal the 2017 season championship in the same race. Our ride experience will be shared in the coming week, so keep an eye out for that.
