India has officially lifted its suspension of the import of Vietnamese black pepper, cassava, cinnamon, and dragon fruits, which was enforced on March 7.

The Indian Embassy in Hanoi has informed the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) about the decision which was recently announced by the Indian Department of Agricultural Cooperation & Farmers Welfare.

Earlier on March 15, the MOIT sent a diplomatic note to India requesting the country to follow international practices and early remove its suspension. On March 20, Vietnamese agencies also dispatched a letter to Indian partners on coordination activities and the announcement of the decision.

After relevant agencies from two countries exchanged information and actively discussed measures to deal with, they agreed to abolish suspension of the temporary imports of some agricultural products of each other.
