Mr. Takeo Nakajima, Chief Representative of Jetro Hanoi said that the number of members of the Japan Business Association in Vietnam is 1,943.
In fact, the number of Japanese enterprises doing business in Vietnam is much larger (some 3,000 enterprises), as many are not members of the Association.
This means that the investment of the Japanese firms in Vietnam is on the rise annually. Most of the Japanese firms appreciate the investment environment in Vietnam as the results of the survey show that the indexes of “size and growth of the market”, “stable socio-political situation” and “ideal living environment for foreigners” have all moved up in the rankings.
The survey also shows that the longer the firms invest in Vietnam, the more profits they get. Japanese enterprises also see a lot of opportunities in Vietnam as their products can be sold in the large domestic market, as well as exported to other markets. This is seen as a motive for Japanese enterprises to continue and expand their business in Vietnam.By Duy Tien
