PSNews - A 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck Haiti's northern coast on October 6, killing at least 15 people, injuring more than 300 others and destroying more than 7,000 buildings.

Fortunately, all members of staff of Natcom - the trademark of Viettel Group in Haiti, were reportedly safe.

The quake affected various provinces of Haiti, including NOT, ART, NORD and the capital city of Port-au-Prince.

A BTS of a Natcom’s branch in NOT caught fire due to short circuit. However, the rescue force of the branch quickly came to the scene and coordinated with local people in extinguishing the fire. Although no human loss was reported, all the equipment at the station were damaged, negatively affecting more than 8,000 customers.

Natcom immediately deployed its workers to the location while its Infrastructure and Asset Management Division quickly supplied alternative equipment to replace the damaged one and put the new BTS into operation as soon as possible.

On its official fanpage, Natcom also has posted various useful instructions to minimize losses in earthquakes, which have been shared by many Haitians.
