Nearly 1,400 Thai cars exported to Vietnam in one week

PSNews - From June 15-21, nearly 1,400 completely built-up Thai cars were imported into Vietnam, accounting for 96% of the  total of imported cars.

According to the statistic of the General Department of Vietnam Customs, from June 15-21, 1,431 completely built-up cars were imported into Vietnam with a total value of nearly US$30 million, especially 96% of them were from Thailand. 

Of the imported vehicles, there are 542 cars with fewer than nine-seats from Thailand, accounting for 97% of the total of cars with fewer that nine-seats. This week is also the third to have seen no cars with fewer than nine-seats imported from China.

In other vehicle trade, 836 out of the total 857 imported trucks originated from Thailand. No trucks were imported from China. 

These trucks were registered for import at three major points in the country at Hai Phong port (538 units), Ho Chi Minh City (193 units) and Hanoi (126 units).

In addition, Vietnam also imported 17 units worth nearly US$1.7 million, including 7 from China, 3 from the Republic of Korea and 2 from France.

Meanwhile, just 162 completely built-up cars were imported in the previous week (from June 8-14) with a value of more than US$6.4 million.
