PSNews - PEGA Vietnam has recently sent a petition to the Minister of Industry and Trade as well as Director of the Market Management Department Trinh Van Ngoc, asking for a fair competition in the electric bike market.

According to PEGA Vietnam, fake PEGA electric bikes, which appear to be of low quality, are prevalent in the domestic market, causing huge losses to the company and undermining its brand. PEGA Vietnam also affirmed that it has already registered with the Vietnamese and Chinese authorities for its trademark and the designs of its products.

In fact, the local press has had much coverage on PEGA fakes since October 2016 when fake PEGA bikes were first spotted. Many electric bike retailers have acknowledged that they sell both PEGA bikes at VND 13.99 million and fake PEGA bikes with much lower quality at VND 9-11 million.

PEGA Vietnam has also sent its complaints to retailers, asking them to stop their unethical business activities of selling fake PEGAs. But the number of fakes of the company’s model Cap A has increased in the market since October 2016.

This is not the first time fake bikes have been found in Vietnam. Famous bike trademarks like Gogoro, Vespa and Honda have once been violated.
