PM attends investment promotion conference in Long An

LONG AN - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked Long An province to build up trust from investors by consolidating integrity and raising the public’s satisfaction about administrative procedures.

“Long An province should improve business and investment climate by holding more dialogues with businesses while building a facilitative government to better serve the people. This could be done through e-government and more policy dialogues to help investors remove difficulties," the cabinet leader said.

During his working session with the provincial leaders, the Prime Minister encouraged early construction of Long An international port and promote environmentally friendly industries. 

He was speaking at a conference to boost investment through sustainable cooperation in the province on October 17. 
Long An has been the top province in the Mekong Delta and the 13th nation wide when it comes to investment attraction. Earlier on October 16, the Prime Minister inspected the construction progress of Long An international port in Can Giuoc district and presented gifts to a local heroic mother.

The province has posted the fastest growth in the Mekong Delta region and among localities with high growth in the southern major economic region over the past five years. 

It ranked ninth in 63 localities nationwide in the provincial competitiveness index, and second among 13 Mekong Delta localities only after Dong Thap. 

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Van Can said called for investments into transport infrastructure system serving the industrial expansion in the province’s major economic area and high technology in line with agricultural restructuring. 

He also introduced 16 projects that are calling for investment, including a project to build urban and transport system connecting Long An with Ho Chi Minh City.
