PSNews - Piaggio has built its own technological complex with a capacity of 300,000 scooters per year, after 10 years setting its foot in the Vietnamese market.

In 2007, Piaggio built a scooter manufacturing plant in Vinh Phuc province after receiving the investment license from the Vietnamese Government, marking an important milestone in the Italian scooter brand’s strategy to enter the Asian market.

Just a few months after the factory's inauguration in 2009, first Vespa LX scooters produced in Vietnam were officially introduced to domestic consumers, and the scooter received many positive feedbacks from customers. This was the reason for why Piaggio decided to choose Vietnam as its headquarters in Asia – Pacific.

In 2012, Piaggio continued to invest in a new engine manufacturing plant and put the international standard test road into operation a year later. In 2015, Piaggio Vietnam finished the 500,000th scooter at the Vinh Phuc factory in Vietnam, creating another significant milestone in the Asian market.

Recently, Piaggio has introduced the Vespa GTS Super model to the market as a present to their customers in celebration of its 10-year operation in Vietnam.

So far, Piaggio has achieved certain successes in the Asian market in general and in the Vietnamese market in particular. Meanwhile, Piaggio's plant as well as its single Asian research and development center in Vietnam are operating very well.
