Toyota continues to lead the Vietnamese car market

In April, the overall automobile (excluding trucks and buses) sales declined sharply, by 92% against the same period last year. Less impacted by the general trend, the total sales of Toyota vehicles in Vietnam still reached 4,096 vehicles, or 90% the April 2016’s figure.
As a result, Toyota Vietnam continues to take the lead in the car segment (excluding trucks and buses) in the Vietnamese market.

In April, the Toyota Vios small sedan model ranked third in the list of the 10 best-sellers in the market with 1,099 units sold. The Camry and Corolla models came second and third with 255 and 232 units respectively sold.
Meanwhile, only 905 Toyota Innovas were sold, equal to 83% of that in the same period last year. But in the context of the market downturn, it still ranked 4th in the list of 10 best-selling cars in April.
In the segment of imported Toyota by Toyota Vietnam, Fortuner model made a record with 1,133 units sold, up by 31% compared to April 2016 and ranked second in the list of 10 best-sellers.
Additionally, 252 Yaris cars were also sold, up by 23% while 148 Hilux semi-trucks, 28 Hiace cars, 35 Land Prado cars and 9 Land Cruiser cars were also sold last month.
