PSNews - In 2017, THACO completed and put into operation an additional of 173 metres of quay, raising the total length of the quay of nearly 500 metres so it could be able to welcome 3 vessels of over 20,000-tonne ships at the same time.

Truong Hai Auto Cooperation (THACO) officially opened the Japan – Chu Lai container shipping route and welcomed a cargo ship of APL as the first guest, on March 25. The event was witnessed by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc

Besides, THACO is planning to build a new port while Quang Nam is preparing to dredge the seabed of the current port so as to receive 50,000 tonne ships, raising the capacity of transportation for the central region.

THACO is also investing some VND 600 billion in widening the main road from Chu Lai port to Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway, and constructing a two-story roundabout at the intersection of National Highway 1A, North - South railway and the main road, as a present to Quang Nam, on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the Chu Lai open economic zone's establishment.
