PSNews – After the Lunar New Year Festival (Tet), the demand for cars has shrunken as people are awaiting the issuance of new automobile taxes. This has made the automobile market has become gloomy although automobile distributors have offered big discounts.

The car price has recently decreased more sharply than ever before. Car dealers had even to reduce prices in January before the Tet. After the Tet, the situation did not look optimistic as the volume of sold cars was much smaller than last year.

As usual, Truong Hai auto started pulling down the car price in March. Accordingly, the price of Mazda2 goes down by18.5 million VND while other Mazda models are 30 million VND – 40.

Meanwhile, Kia models offer only discounts of 3 to 5 million VND.

Nissan is the firm that has offered the biggest discount. The customer will get 100 million VND when buying an X-Trail, including 70 million VND in cash and 30 million VND in gift. Other models of Nissan are also discounted from 10 to 30 million VND.

In addition to official discounts from manufacturers and distributors, car dealers also deploy a number of trade promotion drives. So actual selling prices of Toyota Vios, Altis and Camry are even lower than listed prices by 20 - 30 million VND.

According to experts, although import tax reduction is only applied to cars imported from ASEAN countries but the car price have been changing to a new level
