The Ca Tam 1 oil rig’s upper deck was successfully erected on August 10, 2018 at the Vietsovpetro port manufacturing site (Vung Tau City) by the Vietnam - Russia Joint Venture (Vietsovpetro) Survey and Repair Construction Enterprise.
The Ca Tam Oil Field’s development project in Lot 09-3/12 has been jointly invested in by Vietsovpetro and the PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation (PVEP), and Bitexco Group. Under the trilateral contract, Vietsovpetro is responsible for running the project.
The upper deck, weighing 180 tons, is part of the upper platform of the Ca Tam 1 Oil Rig of Ca Tam Oil Field in Lot 09-3/12, located 160km southeast of Vung Tau City and close to the Rong, Gau Trang and Bach Ho oil field that Vietsovpetro is exploiting.
As this structure was erected on time, the Ca Tam 1 Oil Rig Upper Platform will be launched and transported to the Ca Tam Oil Field in October 2018.
