The Department of Cultural Diplomacy and UNESCO under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam in collaboration with the Vietnamese Fine-Art Mobilization Committee held a ceremony on June 12 to honor artists donating paintings to the project "National Gifts".
Accordingly, the project is based on the initiative of the Vietnamese Fine-Art Mobilization Committee that includes artists and educators of Vietnam, to introduce Vietnamese paintings to international friends by using high-quality paintings as national gifts to leaders of other countries and to decorate Vietnamese representative agencies abroad.
At the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung thanked the artists for their great dedications and highly valued their contributions to introducing Vietnamese culture and images of the country and people to the rest of the world with typical colors and brushstrokes of their paintings.
He also expressed his delight because the Mobilization Committee received over 100 paintings of different themes and materials from 60 artists.
All the paintings are considered national properties, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is ready to support artists who want to organize their painting exhibitions overseas, said the official.
He hoped that the project will attract all generations of artists, especially young and talented artists who would donate their good works to the committee.
