The EU National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC) and the National Documentary and Scientific Film Studio (DSF) held a press conferrence on the 11th European – Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival in Hanoi, on September 29.

This event is part of EUNIC's agenda and is a highlight of its journey of cooperation with Vietnam in the field of cinema. The reasons for holding this film festival are simple: Documentaries offer angles we wouldn't normally recognise, and they are as multidimensional as the world in which we are living.

22 documentaries will be screened during the festival.

The 11th European-Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival brings together documentaries from 10 countries: Austria, Belgium (Wallonia-Brussels), France, Italy, Germany, Israel, Spain, Switzerland, Czech Republic, UK and Vietnam as the host.

For 10 days (October 1-10), audiences in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will be able to enjoy documetaries  from Vietnam and participating countries, many of which have won awards.

Over the past ten years, Vietnamese and international audiences have highly praised the European - Vietnamese Documentary Film Festival for the excellent quality of hundreds of European and Vietnamese documentaries. These films have honestly and vividly reflected life in various countries.

Although each documentary has its own view and story to tell, they contribute to understanding by bringing different cultures across the world together. The festival has shown that this cultural exchange and cooperation among European countries and Vietnam has become closer and well developed.
