PSNews - The State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with relevant agencies will organize the summer camp in Vietnam for young Vietnamese expats from July 10 - 25.

A representative of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs announced that, the camp will take place in 10 localities across the northern, central and southern regions, with the aim of tightening solidarity and promoting interaction between young Vietnamese generations living in Vietnam and abroad.

The participating expats, aged 16 to 24, will visit a series of cultural – historical sites in Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hoi An, Da Nang, Quang Ngai. Among these sites are the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi, Dong Loc T-junction monument in the central province of Ha Tinh, and Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery in the central province of Quang Tri.

They will join charity activities to present gifts to families of the ten female youth volunteers who died at the historical Dong Loc T-junction while keeping the smooth operation of the transport route to the south, orphans in Quang Ngai, and disadvantaged children in Ninh Thuan.

The youths are also scheduled to participate in exchanges with their Vietnamese peers in Thai Nguyen, Quang Ngai, and Ninh Thuan.

The camp will also help the young expats understand more about Vietnam and improve their Vietnamese skill.

Initiated in 2004, the Vietnam Summer Camp has attracted about 2,000 young expatriates from various countries and territories.  Each camp had a specific theme and events designed to bring different experiences and lessons on the Vietnamese culture and history for the participants, who previously had little experience in their home country.
