2019 spring calligraphy festival opens at Temple of Literature

PSNews - The 2019 Spring Calligraphy Festival kicked off on January 29 at the at Ho Van in Van Mieu- Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature) in Hanoi, providing a space to reflect on ancient culture and feudalism.
The 2019 Spring Calligraphy Festival officially opened at the Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam (Temple of Literature) in Hanoi on January 29, attracting a large number of visitors.
On the opening day of the spring calligraphy festival, dozens of calligraphers arrived at Ho Van at Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam to prepare for the event.
Crowds gathered at Ho Van to visit the calligraphy exhibition and request personalised brushworks from the calligraphers.
As many as 30 outstanding calligraphy works are being showcased at an exhibition, contributing to improving the local people’s knowledge of calligraphy arts. 
During the festival, handicrafts from Hanoi’s trade villages, such as do paintings, silk, lacquer paintings and pottery works, are also being displayed.

Visitors have the opportunity to talk to the artists about folk art and calligraphy.
Outstanding calligraphy works, painted in Vietnamese traditional hats, are being showcased at the festival.
Visitors to the festival will have a chance to join in folk games as well as to enjoy traditional arts performances and the traditional food of Hanoians. The event will last until February 17.
