PSNews - The Hoi An People's Committee held "The 2nd Cam Ha - Hoi An Kumquat” in Trang Keo residential area, Cam Ha commune with dozens of nice shaped kumquat trees.

This festival aimed to introduce and honor the traditional flower and ornamental villages of Hoi An, while encouraging artisans and farmers of Cam Ha commune to develop kumquat plant cultivation into an unique brand.

Organized for the first time in 2016, this year’s event drew the participation of hundreds of local people and visitors. This year, besides the kumquat tree exhibition of other localities, visitors also enjoyed sweet tastes of jams and syrups made from kumquat fruit.

Additionally, experienced artisans also demonstrated their dexterity in growing kumquat plants in different phases, including grafting shoots, nurturing and shaping the plants.

Cam Ha commune has an area of over 220 hectares of agricultural land, most of which is used to grow kumquat trees. Over the years, this plant has significantly benefited local people, and made Cam Ha famous throughout the country.

Having kumquat trees with green leafs and lots of yellow fruits in homes during the Lunar New Year is believed to bring luck and prosperity to the families.
