7th Da Lat Flower Festival wraps up
The 7th Da Lat Flower Festival wrapped up at Lam Vien Square, Da Lat city, the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong on December 27.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Vo Ngoc Hiep praised contributions made by organisations and individuals, as well as locals to the success of the festival.
Including 16 major programmes and 14 related events, the festival was organised professionally with various contents and new ideas, he said.
The five-day festival featured a fashion week of locally-made silk “ao dai” (traditional Vietnamese dress), an art performance, exhibitions of Da Lat flowers and tea and flower spaces surrounding Xuan Huong lake and on several streets.
A series of workshops were also held within the framework of the festival to attract investment to and promote tourism in Da Lat and Bao Loc cities.
More than 700 litres of free wine were served at the event, attracting the participation of thousands of locals and tourists.
A photo exhibition highlighting the beauty of the Central Highlands and central coastal regiond was also included.
Themed “Da Lat Flowers - A Miracle from the Good Earth” , this year’s festival contributed to promoting the branding of flowers and tourism in Da Lat and introducing traditional tea and silk products of the province.
