Ancient Hoi An city receives noble award from German Government

The award was firstly announced on November 7 in Dusseldorf city, Germany. The Vietnamese famous ancient city of Hoi An and its twin, Wernigerode city of Germany, defeated nearly 30 pairs of twin cities to win the "National Sustainable Urban Development of Germany in 2019".

Hoi An city and Wernigerode have been the first two cities receiving this award. Each city will also receive EUR 30,000 for the implementation of local projects on sustainable urban development under the supervision of the Engagement Global Agency under the Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany.
The 2019 German Sustainable Urban Development Award is a recognition and positive appraisal of the efforts to build a long-term and effective partnership and coopertion between Hoi An city and Wernigerode city over the years.
This award is expected to serve as a great source of encouragement, creating more motivation for the two cities to cooperate and develop sustainably in the coming time.
