The Organizing Board of the 15th Boston International Film Festival (BIFF) has officially chosen "Cha cong con/Father and son" to screen and compete at this event.
"Cha cong con/ Father and son" is a cinematographic work, which was scripted and directed by Luong Dinh Dung.
The movie tells a story about the life of a boy named Ca (Fish), and his father, who has led his whole life on a small trawler sailing up and down the river.
Ca always dreams of touching clouds up in the sky, and of visiting fancy lands as in fairy tales, told by the blind old man living nearby.
However, Ca does not have enough time to grow up and make his dreams come true because of his fatal disease. His father also does not have enough time to catch enough fish for money to save Ca. Ca's father cannot do anything but hopelessly carries Ca on his back and goes on till he is exhausted.
The movie is expected to be screened at the 15th BIFF from April 13th to April 17th.
BIFF has now received 3,281 short and long films of 17 categories, including short film, documentary and cartoon.
