Cherry blossom festival begins in Bac Ninh

Residents of the city of Bac Ninh and tourists welcomed the vibrant colour and signs of spring today (Mar. 23) as the Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival began at the Kinh Bac Culture Centre.

The three-day festivities include sports events, craft fairs and cultural activities in appreciation of the 20 cherry trees and 5,000 branches on loan as part of a cultural exchange program.

After this year's winter, residents are most grateful for the sunshine and mild temperatures.

The festival continues through March 25.
|

|
This is the third destination for the travelling exhibit following earlier showings in Ha Long and Hanoi.
