Colourful "Hoi An Memories" show attracts thousands of visitors

PSNews - The show Hoian Memories, one of the largest outdoor visual arts performance ever in Vietnam, took place at Hoian Impression Theme Park, to celebrate 2019 new year.

The colorful and musically dazzling night show, with a cast of nearly 500 actors and actresses, recalls the memories of Hoian as a prosperous trading port over a 400-year period, took place on December 31 at the Hoian Impression Theme Park.

The Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism of the central coastal province of Quang Nam said the event aims to welcoming 3.8 millionth visitor to Hoi An ancient town.

3,000 lanterns, 50 colorful balloons and a fireworks display at Hoi An Impression Theme Park on Hen islet in the Hoai river lighted up the sky of Hoi An. Tourists also had chance to enjoy traditional folk games, cuisines and experience old architect space.

The image of a girl wearing an Ao dai, a traditional Vietnamese dress, sitting next to a loom opened and crossed the show’s scenes, on the large stage, along with the lighting and the melodious sounds, full of fancy. The image is like a symbol of time being woven, each thread making up the months and days, and the memories.

| According to organizers, some open-door activities could not happen due to cold weather, light rain and drizzle. However, many foreign visitors came to Hoi An Impression Theme Park to enjoy art shows, including a special performance describing Hoi An as the busiest commercial port, where connected to the world civilization from the 16th-19th century. |

| Hoi An, a poetic land with many ups and downs throughout history, brings a beautiful memory of the forefathers. It is a land of hard-working, courageous, yet hospitable, open-minded people which grew to became a destination for merchant ships from all over the world, gradually creating the crowded commercial port of Hoi An, which became the second home of many people. |

Earlier, the Vietnamese famous ancient city of Hoi An was presented with the 2019 German Sustainable Urban Development Award by the German Government for its contribution to environmental protection and sustainable development This award is expected to serve as a great source of encouragement, creating more motivation for Hoian to cooperate and develop sustainably in the coming time.
