Running from February 12-19, the annual festival aims to commemorate the 683rd death anniversary of monk Huyen Quang, who was the third founder of the Truc Lam Zen sect. The special feature of the festival is that various interesting traditional activities, including a clay fire-cracker contest, are held here.

The clay fire-cracker contest is a folk game, in which players make and throw clay crackers on the ground to create noise, and the one creates the biggest sound will win the game. The game, which aims to promote a martial spirit of the nation with thousand-years history and prays for bumper crops and no disasters, always attracts scores of people of all ages.

This years, according to the Hai Duong Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, nearly 250 contestants of the 8 communes, with long history of making clay fire-crackers, of An Duc, NInh Hoa, Tan Huong, Quyet Thang of the Ninh Giang District; Minh Duc, Quang Khai, Tu Ky district and Duc Xuong commune of the GiaLoc district, competed in the traditional folk contest.
