Da Nang International Food Festival 2019 to open

The Da Nang Municipal Department of Tourism on April 8 announced: "The Da Nang International Food Festival 2019 will take place from May 31 to June 6 at East Sea Park, with the aim of promoting specialties of Dang Nang as well as creating opportunity for local chefs to exchange experience with international chefs.

Within the framework of the festival, many interesting activities will be held such as food tasting, photo exhibition on Da Nang's beauty, art performance, bartender show.

Da Nang has been considered one of the most impressive festival city in Asia by successfully organizing many international events.

Recently, the New York Times, an American newspaper with worldwide influence and readership, has ranked the central coastal city of Da Nang 15th in their annual list of 52 places to go this year.

The number of visitors to Da Nang increased 15.5 percent on-year to 7.6 million in 2018, including 2.8 million foreigners, a 23.3 percent increase from a year earlier, according to the Department of Tourism. Arrivals by sea and air in 2018 and 2017 recorded annual increases of 66 percent and 48.7 percent respectively.

Da Nang’s revenue from travel in 2018 is estimated at VND24 trillion ($1.03 billion), representing a year-on-year jump of 23.3 percent.
