The workshop the aim of promoting and expanding its tourism products and services. In particular, the three-day focused on creating bilateral linkages with even more Indian tourism partners, especially those in Mumbai, the capital city of the Indian state of Maharashtra.

Representatives of Vietnam said that at the event, Indian travel agencies expressed interest in the central destinations of Danang, Hoi An, and Hue, which are home to many five-star resorts suitable for vacations and luxury wedding ceremonies.

It is known that about 40% of the Indian tourist market are leisure travellers, whilst other 40% are MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conference and Exhibitions) visitors, and the remainder are wedding tourists.

Indian wedding planning firms have also shown interest in surveying the wedding tourism market in Danang. Next month, several travel agencies will invite customers to Danang to experience wedding services.

However, a lot needs to be done to attract Indian tourists with deep pockets to the city, such as the launch of more air routes, relaxation of visa policies, and improvement in quality of service offered at tourist destinations, to meet the requirements of Indians.

Therefore, it is essential to launch direct air routes linking India with Danang and other localities across the country soon and revisions to visa policies must be taken into account as well.
