Dien Bien hosts first cherry blossom festival

PSNews - Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee on January 6 hosted the first ever cherry blossom festival in Dai Hoa, Pa Khoang commune, Dien Bien. 

The opening ceremony featured traditional cultural and art performances of the Dien Bien ethnic groups and shows of traditional costumes of Japan and Vietnam.

The festival named "Cherry blossom - Pa Khoang - Dien Bien 2018" consists of a series of cultural, sport and tourism activities with the main theme of traditional cultural identities of the Dien Bien ethnic groups in association with the typical spiritual values of Japan.

The festival also featured some others activities such as mobile screening of films about the culture, history and people of Japan as well as the traditional cultural features of the Dien Bien ethnic groups; tours to Dao Hoa, Che Can cultural village and the historical site of the Command Post of the Dien Bien Phu campaign; photo exhibitions and food stalls presenting Dien Bien and Japanese cultures and cuisines.

The festival "Cherry blossom - Pa Khoang - Dien Bien 2018" has opened a series of activities to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Vietnam (September 21st 1973-2018).

This is also an opportunity for the locality to promote its tourism potential, introduce the beauty of the land and people, and attract domestic and international friends and visitors to the locality.
