PSNews - A ceremony in response to the Earth Hour Campaign was launched in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) on March 17 with the participation of more than 1,000 volunteer youths and two ambassadors of the event - singer Le Thien Hieu and singer Lynk Lee.

At the event, the volunteers, acting as environmental ambassadors, provided people with information about the upcoming projects of the campaign, simple, easy and necessary actions to protect the environment, and products of businesses responsible for the community's living environment.

The highlight of the event was a record performance of more than 1,000 young people who simultaneously changed the avatar of their personal Facebook accounts to call for support of the Earth Hour Campaign 2019.

Vietnam has participated in the Earth Hour Campaign since 2009. Over the last 10 years, the Earth Hour Campaign in Vietnam in particular and in the world in general has not only successfully mobilized the communities to switch off the light simultaneously for one hour, but also extended its scope to many other environmental protection activities.

The Earth Hour Campaign 2019 consists of various projects, such as Green Motion Project, Green Capacity Project for Community, Green Connection Project, among others.

All of these activities are geared towards the main event, in which cities around the world will simultaneously turn off lights for one hour. In HCMC, the event will take place from 5pm to 10 pm on March 30 at the Youth Cultural House, and is expected to attract more than 5,000 young people and local residents.
