On the occasion of the 1010th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi and the Vietnam's 2020 ASEAN Chairmanship, the Department of ASEAN Affairs under the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in collaboration with the Hoan Kiem District People's Committee and the Vietnam Art and Cultural Diplomacy Commission and the National Flower Painting Group held the exhibition themed "National flowers of ASEAN member countries".
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vu Ho, Head of Department of ASEAN Affairs under the MOFA, said that each ASEAN member country has its own symbolic flower. This exhibition offers an opportunity for all to exchange and further understand about the cultures of each country in the bloc as well as expresses hope and confidence in an increasingly strong and cohesive ASEAN in the future, Ho affirmed.
At the exhibition, Hanoians and visitors can enjoy the ASEAN national flower paintings made by Vietnamese artists (Nguyen Thi Bich Hong, Dao Thi Lien Huong, Bui Minh Hoa, Nguyen Tuan Anh and Le Vinh), featuring the national flowers of all ASEAN member states. |
Each national flower painting of each country has been carefully researched by the artists, as they have been learning about the unique cultures and characteristics of each nation in the region. Then, they reflected such cultural features by their richest, most uplifting and emotional colours. |
The exhibition will last until October 1 at the Ho Guom Cultural Information Centre, No. 2 Le Thai To Street, Hanoi. |
