Exhibition on "Vietnamese traditional craft of silk weaving" opens in Casa Italia

PSNews - Bao Loc silk, Van Phuc silk or Nha Xa silk are not only famous within Vietnam but also in the world. However, it takes traditional artisans many elaborate phases to produce quality and beautiful silk. 
Visiting Casa Italia these days, visitors will have the opportunity to explore the exhibition on "Vietnamese traditional craft of silk weaving" and witness artisans from many famous silk villages of Vietnam making their tasks.
Artisan Tran Thi Rong shared that the phases of the craft of silk weaving are equally important, from selection of cocoons to silk dyeing. Particularly, dyeing and printing makes it possible to bring about the choicest colors and shades on silk, leaing to value addition of the silk materials.
She also revealed that the silkworm eating cassava leaves will provide white cocoons and the silkworm eating strawberry leaves will produce the yellow ones.
This exhibition (March 14-19) is one of the activities on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties between Italia and Vietnam.
A representative of the organizing board stated that, this exhibition aimed at enhancing the cultural values of the craft industry in fashion, contributing to highlighting the topic "Sustainability" of this anniversary.
