Festival of Dau island attracts over 10 thousand of visitors

The festival of Dau island, Do Son district, Hai Phong city (National-level scenic site) which is held every year on February 1-10 of the lunar year attracts many visitors.
According to Mr. Do Van Viet, Head of the Tourism, Culture and Sports Division of Do Son district, this year event drew the participation of over 10 thousand of visitors and pilgrims, thanks to Do Son district’s good investment in upgrading facilities and infrastructure of the temple.
What is more, the local authorities also took due care of traffic and security issues related to the festival. Particularly, the local police force strictly focused on ensuring security, social order, waterway safety, fire prevention in the festival area. Additionally, superstitious and cheating activities were driven away by local security forces, contributing to cleaning the cultural environment and promoting unique local cultural features.
Apart from enjoying a cultural festive atmosphere at the festival, visitors to the Dau may want to visit the oldest lighthouse in Vietnam, primeval forests, rich vegetation systems and unique ancient rock areas.
In the coming time, the local government will continue developing Do Son as a sea-tourist destination and a spiritual attraction as well.
