France hosts Tale of Kieu exhibition
Translations of the Tale of Kieu are presented at the exhibition.
The exhibition serves as one of many activities being held to mark the 255th birth of the great poet Nguyen Du, whilst also commemorating his 200th death anniversary.
At the opening ceremony, Ambassador Tran Thi Hoang Mai, head of the Vietnamese Permanent Delegation to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), stated that Nguyen Du is a great Vietnamese poet. She went on to express her pride when in 2013 UNESCO recognized the great contributions made by famous people worldwide to culture, education, and science, with Nguyen Du being among them.
On display at the exhibition are more than 70 complete translations which were published in countries globally.
The event running until September 26, is getting underway at the Sudestasie bookstore in District 5 of Paris, an area that is renowned for being a famous Southeast Asian bookstore in France.
