“Great National Unity – Vietnam’s Cultural Heritage” Week kicked off

PSNews - "Great National Unity – Vietnam’s Cultural Heritage" Week 2017 was kicked off on November 18 at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Son Tay district, Hanoi.

The event is held to mark the 87th traditional day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day. 

Diverse activities, such as the day on national great solidarity, reinstatement of Cai Rang floating market, seminar on building and developing the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in the new situation, and the opening ceremony for the first phase of Phap An Pagoda will be held.

Various activities took place in the Old Quarter of Hanoi to mark the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day. 

The program includes installation space on examinations in the past, workshop on traditional male clothes, introduction on Vietnamese tea, and performance of Ca tru (ceremonial singing) and traditional opera. 

At the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Tran Thanh Man said the great national unity bloc is always the most important and strongest resource for the whole Party, people and army to weather every difficulty and challenge to succeed in reform and national development.

Great unity is also one of the most precious cultural values of the Vietnamese people, he noted, calling on people from all social strata to join hands to bring into play the strength of the great national unity bloc.

Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Lan is deputy head of the Management Board for Hanoi’s Old Quarter: “We aim to preserve and promote the image of Ha Noi’s Old Quarter and raise people’s awareness about preserve cultural heritages. This is also an opportunity to promote Vietnamese culture to the world”. 

The event will draw the participation of nearly 200 people, artists, actors and actresses from 13 groups, including Tay, Dao, Mong, Muong, Thai, Kho Mu, Ta Oi, Co Tu, E De, Khmer, Cham, Kinh and Raglai, from localities nationwide.
