Hai Van gateway recognised as national relic

PSNews - Currently, Hai Van Gateway becomes a popular tourist destination, attracting many local people and foreigners. 

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just announced a decision to recognise the Hai Van Gateway as a national relic.

The Hai Van Gateway was built under the Tran Dynasty and was upgraded under the reign of Emperor Minh Mang as defensive structure.

This national relic is located 490 meters above the seawater level between Lang Co town, ThuaThien Hue province, and Lien Chieu district, Da Nang city.

According to historical records, Emperor Minh Mang addressed it in Vietnamese as ‘Hai Van Quan’, and inscribed a phase: ‘Thien ha de nhat hung quan’ (world’s most marvelous wonder) in the upper part of the gate.
