The "Indian Cooking Show " is one of the activities to celebrate the 45th fouding anniversary of Vietnam - India diplomatic relations (January 7th 1972-2017) and 10 years of the Vietnam - India comprehensive strategic partnership (July 2007-2017).
Despite the hot weather, a large number of people, mainly women and food lovers,  came to the event, enjoying the demonstration of unique cooking techniques.
The main chef of the cooking show was Mr. Gaurav Malhotra, a famous chef from New Delhi. He has had the opportunities to serve the Indian Prime Minister and other senior leaders.

With the aid from his assistant, Gaurav demonstrated how to make three popular, easy-to-make Indian dishes, namely Kebab Pudina, Noor-e-mahi and Phirnee. The two chefs were cooking Noor-e-mahi. The main ingredient to cook this dish is fish. It is a very popular dish in Northern India.

The unique feature of Indian dishes is the harmonious combination of many different ingredients, most of which are milk, seeds and spices.
Kebab Pudina is also a dish from Northern India, but it is a combination of cheese and mint leaves. All the dishes introduced in the show are very easy to make and very popular in Indian meals.

The final dish at the cooking show was a dessert called Phirnee. Chef Malhotra with his excellent cooking skills and deep understanding of the Indian cuisine took the audience to a new world of food tast and decoration.

There was also a quiz and a tasting test to find lucky people at the end of the event.

Speaking of his feeling about his first visit to Vietnam, chef Gaurav Malhotra said, he was very surprised that many Vietnamese are interested in the Indian cuisine. His cooking show aimed to introduce and teach Vietnamese people how to cook Indian food at home.
