In response to the theme “Museums as Cultural Hubs: The future of tradition” of the 2019 International Museum Day launched by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) , the Hoi An Cultural Heritage Management Center will offer free entrance tickets to local people and tourists when visiting the 5 local museums on May 18.
From May 17 to 23, the Center will also organize several activities to serve tourists, such as showcasing tradition crafts production, making “banh in” cake and Vietnamese tea at the Folk Culture Museum; providing free health check-ups with traditional medicine methods for local people and visitors at the Hoi An Traditional Medicine Museum.
On this occasion, at the Folk Culture Museum, there will be an art exhibition of sand paintings made by talented handicapped artisans from the Phi Long sand painting establishment.
