Hoi An to host light festival on 2019 New Year’s Eve
PSNews – The Division of Culture and Information of Hoi An on December 24 announced that the ancient town will be lightened up with 3,000 lanterns, 50 colorful balloons and fireworks on the 2019 New Year’s Eve.
With the aim of celebrating New Year 2019 and the 20th anniversary of UNESCO's recognition of Hoi An Ancient Town as world cultural heritage, the Hoi An light festival will be taken place at Hoi An Impressive Park on December 31.
According to the organizing board, the activities of the festival will start on late afternoon with many specific art programs luring domestic and international visitors. Tourists will also have chance to enjoy traditional folk games, cuisines and experience old architect space. Additionally, they will receive lanterns and join in count down party in the world heritage city.
3,000 lanterns, 50 colorful balloons and fireworks are expected to light up the ancient city of Hoi An in the central province of Quang Nam on the 2019 New Year’s Eve.
Earlier, the Vietnamese famous ancient city of Hoi An was presented with the 2019 German Sustainable Urban Development Award by the German Government for its contribution to environmental protection and sustainable development. This award is expected to serve as a great source of encouragement, creating more motivation for cities to cooperate and develop sustainably in the coming time.
