Khomu music introduced in Hanoi

PSNews – The traditional music of the Khomu ethnic minority group is introduced to Hanoi people and visitors. 

This cultural program named “Music of the Khomu people in Nghe An and Dien Bien,” organized by the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology on the occasion of the Vietnam Heritage Day, started from November 23.

The program aimed to introduce the public the unique folklore of the Khomu ethnic people, contributing to improving the public awareness of national intangible cultural heritages in general and folk music of the Khomu people in particular.

Along with music shows, there were other educational activities organized within the program, such as meeting with Khomu music artisans, making Khomu flute, music games and quizzes.

There was also a seminar about the music of the Khomu people in the world chaired by Dr. Frank Porschan, Fullbright scholar and UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage expert, with the participation of many local researchers.

The program lasted until November 24.
