Nam Dinh to receive UNESCO's certificate of the Vietnamese Mother Goddess rituals

PSNews - The ceremony should be held solemnly but economically, in line with the Prime Minister's instructions.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism had a working session with leaders of Nam Dinh province on February 23rd, in Hanoi, to prepare for a ceremony to honor the Vietnamese Mother Goddess Ritual practice as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

Under the plan, the ceremony to officially announce UNESCO’s recognition of the Vietnamese Mother Goddess Ritual practice as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity will take place at the Phu Giay relic complex, Kim Thai commune, Vu Ban district, Nam Dinh province.

At the working session, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Dang Thi Bich Lien underscored that the ceremony should be held solemnly but economically, in line with the Prime Minister's instructions.

Additionally, Nam Dinh province should draw up a specific plan and submit it to the ministry as soon as possible for the approval of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

In conclusion, Minister Nguyen Ngoc Thien instructed Nam Dinh province to organize the ceremony in a decent manner while ensuring social order, security and highlighting the role of the community and artisans in preserving and promoting the ritual.
