Photography festival featuring Mekong Delta opens

The Chau Doc Photography Center in collaboration with the An Giang Provincial People’s Committee and the Vietnam’s Photographers’ Association held the 33rd Mekong Delta Photography Festival on August 8 themed “Land and people of Mekong Delta on the development path.
The organizing board of the photography festival announced that after six months of launching, they have received 2,408 entries from 303 photographers living across 13 provinces and cities within the Mekong Delta.
Of the entries, there are 1,120 photos in colour, 985 black and white photos, and 303 photos featuring “The Beauty of An Giang”.
Most of the entries focus on the charm of the region in general and of An Giang in particular, cultural life of local ethnic communities, and the delta’s socio-economic and cultural achievements in the period of industrialisation and mordernisation.
Particularly, within the framework of the festival lasting until August 23, 230 outstanding photography works taken by 278 photographers have been selected by the organizers to be showcased at the Chau Doc Photography Centre and at Trung Nu Vuong Square in Long Xuyen city.
