"Piazza Italia 2018" festival attracts thousands of visitors

PSNews - On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Italia, the Italian festival themed "Piazza Italia 2018" known as Italian Square took place on November 10-11, at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, attracting thousands of domestic and foreign visitors.

Present the opening ceremony of the "Piazza Italia 2018" festival were Nguyen Duc Chung, Chairman of the Hanoi Municipal People's Committee; Cecilia Piccioni, Italian Ambassador to Vietnam as well as other ambassadors and representatives of international organizations in Hanoi. 

Speaking at the event, Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung said: "November is a beautiful time of Hanoi's autumn. The fact that Italian Ambassador has selected the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, a historical place of Hanoi to host the festival holds a significant meaning. The space of the Thang Long Imperial Citadel will boost interactions of the two cultures, contributing to bringing the Italian culture closer to Vietnamese people". 

"Piazza Italia 2018" took place at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel. 

Italian Ambassador Cecilia Piccioni thanked Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung for creating favorable conditions for the two cultures to encounter. She also shared that participating in the festival, visitors would have chance to taste Italian food, learn how to cook spaghetti and make pizza from famous chef Enrico De Martino, enjoy fashion shows and other art performances.  

Besides, the festival included other sport activities such as learning how to play football with Italian coaches from Juventus Academy, playing voleyball, badminton, etc. 

Vietnamese and Italian artists performing "Voi Chi Siete" at the festival.
