RoK Cultural Days in Hoi An promote people exchanges

PSNews – The Republic of Korea (Rok) Cultural Days which took place in Hoi An on October 12-13 with diverse activities attracted the participation of thousands of domestic and foreign tourists, contributing to promoting mutual understanding and people exchanges between the two countries.

Following the success of the first event in 2017, the Embassy of RoK in collaboration with the RoK Cultural Center, the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee and the Hoi An Municipal People's Committee held "RoK Cultural Days" in Hoi An, with a series of cultural and entertaining activities bearing the identity of "Kimchi's country".

The event included an exhibition on Korean culture, an introduction of beauty arts, performances of folk arts and Taekwondo and a traditional costume Hanbok fashion show. Additionally, participants will also have chance to enjoy the performance of Coreyal music band and ONGALS comedian group. 

Coreyal is a group of young artists who have passion with the Korean traditional Gukak music. The name of the group, the Sino-Korean homonym Co - Re - Yah refers to inheritance of the past, but now it serves to draw living modern people toward more attractive music using old music elements.

Meanwhile, ONGALS gathers veteran artists who performed their own tour in many countries around the world. They was also honored to receive a certificate of merits from the Minister of Culture and Tourism of RoK for their contribution in promoting Korean culture abroad.

Particularly, many people made a long queue and waited for their turn to taste Korean food including Gimbap, Bibimbap, Mandu, Kimchi, Fishcake, Jajangmyeon, etc.

Director of the RoK Cultural Center Park Hye-jin shared that: "I'm very impressed with the massive participation of domestic and foreign tourists, despite bad weather. Through this event, we would like to introduce people a dynamic Korea in the present but we still keep our traditional culture well. I hoped that the event has contributed to enhancing cultural exchange between people of Vietnam and RoK".
