PSNews- The most famous French theater - Comédie-Française will bring the classical play "Romeo and Juliet" to the audience of Hanoi on May 20, according to the French Cultural Center in Hanoi - L'Espace.
According to L'Espace, William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" was rarely staged in France. This is the first time in the past 50 years that this classic work has returned to the Comédie-Française theater.
The play directed by Éric Ruf, Director of the Comédie-Française theater, has been adapted based on the French version translated by François-Victor Hugo (Victor Hugo's son). The Roméo and Juliette's love story, which is originally a play, is better known by the movie versions.
With the desire to bring France's drama closer to domestic and international audiences, Comédie-Française has teamed up with Pathé-live (the worldwide producer and publisher of the Comédie-Française and Bolshoi theaters) to bring the classic play "Romeo and Juliet" to those who have not had the opportunity to enjoy it live at the theater.
The premier show at the L'Espace Center is also the first time the show has been introduced to audiences in Vietnam in particular and in South East Asia in general.By Duy Tien
