PSNews-Special editions of the four classic literature works, including “Don Quixote”, “Robin Hood”, “The Adventures of Baron Munchausen” and “The Golden Key” have just been published by the Kim Dong Publishing House.

The literature works, popular with many generations of readers, are parts of the series of publications in celebration of the 60th anniversary of Kim Dong Publishing House, with many illustrative pictures drawn by young Vietnamese artists.

"Don Quixote" is a classic work by Spanish novelist, playwright and great poet Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra. This is one of the best works of all time, translated into many languages and reissued thousands of times. This edition by the Kim Dong Publishing House is based on the first edition of "Don Quixote", in Vietnam in 9-1959, translated by Hoang Dinh Huy (pseudonym of the poet Vo Quang).

In addition to the Vietnamese version of "Don Quixote" in his pseudonym of Hoang Dinh Huy, writer Vo Quang also translated the folk legend of the knight Robin Hood and published the Vietnamese version in January 1961. To date, Robin Hood has remained one of the most famous lore characters inspiring dramas and modern literary works.

Another of the classic literary works selected by the Kim Dong Publishing House for this occasion is “The Adventures of Baron Munchausen” by German writer Rudolf Erich Raspe (1736-1794). So far, Munchausen is still one of the most admired adventurous literary figures in the world, comparable to Robinson Crusoe and Gulliver.

These 4 special editions are illustrated by painter Ly Minh Phuc, Truong Van Ngoc and Nguyen Quang Toan with colorful pictures, helping young readers to easily visualize the backgrounds and characters and wallow in the world of the works’ characters.

Ta Huy Long - Artistic Manager of the Kim Dong Publishing House - one of the leading children's book illustrators in Vietnam, said that young artists have very modern and liberal views, fine-grained paintings, fine and bright color handling. The works have been done with various efforts and excellent artistic quality.
